Assignment Eight:
Teaching ADHD Students
Special Needs Learning in Neuroscience
ADHD is one of the most common learning disabilities in schools and it is often diagnosed early in a student’s life due to an inability to follow directions or do well in his/her classes.
I focus on teaching such a student because strategies for empowering and utilizing an ADD/ADHD student’s strengths are currently very underdeveloped.

I challenged myself to research the special need, discuss the limitations that this type of learner might have with understanding the science, then build a lesson plan that a teacher could use to teach the student this concept.
